Meeting/Event Information

We are excited to host our 3rd Quarter 2026 meeting at Hotel Carmichael in Carmel, IN! We are currently finalizing our speaker lineup and will continue our AI Pulse series. The full agenda will be shared soon.

Based on positive feedback, we’ll be bringing back our Kahoot! quizzes in a fun and engaging way. We will also provide an update on our chapter’s progress toward the 2026 goals. As always, the day will be filled with valuable education, meaningful networking, and a strong return on your investment of time and membership.

This quarter, we’ve introduced a separate complimentary registration for the networking event. You only need to sign up for this if you are not attending the Education Day. If you are registered for Education Day, your networking attendance is already included—no need to register twice. We appreciate your patience as we continue improving our website to better meet our needs.

A sincere thank you to our annual sponsors, who will be featured on our banner display throughout the year and in our social media. We also extend our gratitude to Hotel Carmichael for their generous venue sponsorship. Additional sponsorship opportunities may be available—our communications reach an audience of over 800, so stay tuned if you're interested.

We look forward to seeing you in Carmel, IN this September!

Your Most Focused Year Ever - Samantha Bean, Vice President of Sales & LTD Culture Champion

One of your greatest responsibilities as a leader is to focus and direct attention. It’s how you get results. But often, the most difficult attention to focus can be your own. In this session, we're going to talk about how to identify goals, destroy distractions, and make 2023 your most focused year yet.

In this session, attendees will learn how to overcome the destructive force of distraction in three steps:

  1. Clearly define wins
  2. Distance the distractions
  3. Obsess about the process not the result

Sam currently serves as Vice President of Sales and Culture at LTD Hospitality. She has served as the Virginia BTA Chapter President, two terms on the GBTA CPC board and is a recipient of the GBTA Business Travel Service Award. She currently sits on the GBTA Government Relations Committee and is a participant in GBTA Ladders.

Sam has earned her Global Leadership Professional designation, her GTP and has completed the GBTA Manager’s Level Certificate through the UVA Darden School of Business. She is certified as a John Maxwell Leadership Coach and has had the honor of speaking for various GBTA Chapters and most recently at the SAP Concur Travel Summit.

Sam is an active leader in her church and serves as a CrossFit and Precision Nutrition coach.

The Art of Belonging”  Shelly Brown, Speaker, Author, Artist, Rock Star Midfullness Edutainer

Join us as Shelley Brown, author of Weird Girl Adventures, pops into our world splashing the bright colors of her weirdness into our lives through funny, touching, relatable and oh so human stories accompanied by her very own pop art. She’ll teach us how to bring out everyone’s unique colors through her W.E.I.R.D. framework to amplify true connection and belonging.

Synopsis:

Have you ever felt weird, like you didn’t fit in, like you didn’t belong? When I pose this questionto audiences, everyone raises their hand. We’ve experienced a big shift. We are looking for more alignment with who are. We are looking for workplaces where there is a culture of trust and safety, where our gifts and talents are recognized and where we feel safe and have a choice to express our preferences, points of view and personalities. It begins with each one of us. We have more pressure, more responsibility, more competition in addition to the stress of long hours, quotas, deadlines and more. What will fuel us personally, professionally, support us to do what we do best and positively impact our success and the success of others? Belonging.

When we feel safe to be ourselves, we feel valued and appreciated for who we are, we feel like we belong, and we feel like we matter. Belonging is the critical ingredient for leadership, productivity, originality, creativity, innovation, and the antipode to “Quiet Quitting.” Belongingness helps everyone to show up well and that’s good for everyone, critical for organizational success and guest experience.

Let Shelley take you on a journey to teach and inspire you to make a difference and take “You belong here,” from a slogan to an experience for everyone.

Audience Take-Aways

  • Learn to shift belonging from a slogan to an ongoing experience to lead, engage and
  • form stronger more successful organizations.
  • Recognize how individuality connects us to be more impactful leaders and bring out
  • the best in yourself and others.
  • Understand how belonging impacts personal and organizational fulfillment.
  • Remove the roadblocks to belonging to reduce stress, increase trust, productivity,
  • and engagement.
  • Walk away refreshed and inspired to use the 5-step W.E.I.R.D. framework to fuel
  • and amplify true belonging for yourself both personally and professionally
